Understanding what is happening in water bodies, such as rivers and dams, presents several challenges. They are often remote, large, with complex layouts and not readily accessible. Yet, it is important to monitor water quality, measure temperature and depth, and inspect the banks for damage. Sending people in vehicles and boats is expensive and presents logistics and safety issues.
Wouldn’t it be great if there were a small autonomous drone, that could be sent on a pre-programmed mission, gathering and remotely communicating data and surveillance video, taking water samples and then coming home to recharge its batteries?
Wouldn’t it be amazing if several of these autonomous drones could be sent out together to carry out both spatial and temporal monitoring, while blending into the environment by having the appearance of swans, swimming on the surface of the water?
The Subnero Water Assessment Network (SWAN) is all this and more. Check it out at https://optimosgroup.com/products/swan_/ and get in touch to talk about how we may be able to help.
