Optimos Group is pleased to announce that, the first Coliminder on-line bacterial monitoring system to arrive in Australia, is up and running.
Bathurst Regional Council has installed the Coliminder as part of its continuing work to improve water security for its customers in a period of extended and severe water shortage. The Coliminder, from Vienna Water Monitoring Solutions, will help characterise a new raw water source intended to supplement the feed to the Bathurst Water Filtration Plant. The Coliminder can do more than 50 measurements per day, from 2 sample streams, and can be configured to measure any two of the following parameters simultaneously– E.coli, Enterococci, and Total Activity. The measurement technique uses specific enzymatic fluorescence, a well-known method also used in the IDEXX Colilert test.
In the Bathurst installation, it is measuring E. coli only. The Coliminder is an on-line device, and its IP65, temperature-controlled housing, makes it suitable for field installation. It is fully automated, including cleaning and calibration processes, and can run up to 1,000 measurements without manual intervention. It provides online data visualisation, automatic email and SMS alert notifications and is fully remotely controllable, via an internet connection.
